Description: Specialty: Nuclear Med TechnicianFacility: URMC UR Imaging @ River RdState License: NYCerts/Licenses: Years of Experience: Shift: 5×8.0Guaranteed Hours: Description: Short Description:Schedule: Days, some evenings until 7pm EST; 5x8hr noholiday, call or weekends ONLY ERR location outpatient centerComplete Description:Responsibilities: Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam toensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients ageand ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability tocooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained. Reviews patient information and interpretation of data toconfirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs andprovision of care. Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordancewith applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values,and mission of the organization. Primarily adult outpatient procedures (16y/o+)Various general nuclear medicine exams such as bone scans, Hidascans, thyroid, etc. (will not be conducting nuclear cardiology imaging scans) Must have experience with conducting Pet CT scans (CTCertification NMTCB- CT required per NYS)Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality ofimaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues,including repositioning patient and repeating procedure based on radiologistrecommendation. Enters, transmits and reports scan results using Epic. Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes ofradiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicableregulations/standards. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/respondsto changes in status to Nursing for review/escalation as needed. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the ClinicalNuclear Medicine rooms such as linens, injections supplies, etc. Maintainhigh level or professionalism in all interactions including respectfully communicating,maintaining a positive attitude and reporting to all hours as scheduled. Qualifications: – Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with CT Certification and NYS Rad Tech License – BLS (American Heart Association) – MUST have CT Certification NMTCB- CT or ARRT-CT – 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine required, 2 years of Nuclear Medicine preferred. – PET/CT training and licensure required, but will consider candidates who have not professionally conducted PET/CT scans- Will consider candidateswhile they re pending their NYS license must be able to obtain prior tostart.- Epic experience preferred, but not required.Behavior Characteristics:Skills| Skill | SkillTypeDescription | Duration | ExpertiseRatingDescription || 2 years Nuclear Tech | Required | 0 | || NYS License | Required | 0 | || ARRT Certification w/ CE credits | Required | 0 | || BLS Certification | Required | 0 | |
