General job duties. Types of procedures required Performs exams from start to finish.oRegisters/Checks In Patient?Checks authorizations and medical necessity.oConfirm order is accurate and has authorization.oLab orders/results available within 30 days for CT and MRI exams with contrast.oCall and schedule patients according to department protocol.oEnter correct demographics and order into the RIS.oPerform exam according to the physician order and department protocol.oNotate appropriate documentation oMake exam available to Radiologists to be read via PACSoComplete exam within the hospital EHR. Maintain Infection ControloClean after every patient oPractice good hand hygieneoWipe down high touch surfacesoWear proper PPE On CalloMay be assigned on call standby shifts as needed by the departmentoIncludes week nights and weekends. Meet, Maintain and Exceed Department CompetenciesoDemonstrate Competency per modality via a checklistoDemonstrate Competency in IV startsoSchedulingoUsing PACsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic computer skills Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to maneuver patients on table in order to obtain proper images. Able to lift at least 50 lbs. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public whether in person or over the phone. Uses AIDET according to BMHD policy Use of appropriate technical factors such as kVp, mA, time, distance, grids, cassettes, positioning, and collimation. Practices ALARA Appropriate positioning for the exam ordered by physician. Practices good sterile techniques. Performs Computed Tomography exams with and/or without power contrast injection per physician order. Critical thinking:oSeeks resources for direction, when necessary. oPerforms independent problem solving. oDecision-making is logical and deliberate.oPerforms actions that demonstrate accountability. oExercises safe judgement in decision making. oPractices within legal and ethical guidelines. Practices and abides by patient safety standards and policies at all times. Practices and abides by equipment safety standards and policies at all times. Handles confidential information according to HIPAA regulations. Train in other modalities and/or assist with training as requested. 2. Required Skills/minimum years of experienceAt least 2 years of experience preferred4. ARRT (R) (CT), BLS, Oregon license required5. 25 bed critical access hospital6.
