About the Role

Croydon Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Acute Therapies team. This role will support rotational working across Orthopaedic/Surgical wards, Elderly Care, Medicine and ITU, providing the opportunity to develop and consolidate skills across a range of acute specialities. The post holder will work autonomously within the hospital setting.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment within acute inpatient settings.
• Work across a rotation including Orthopaedics/Surgery, Elderly Care, Medicine and ITU.
• Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning, particularly within medicine and elderly care pathways.
• Apply respiratory physiotherapy skills in ward-based settings, including ITU if required.
• Assess functional needs and prescribe appropriate equipment to support mobility and independence.
• Manage an inpatient caseload autonomously while ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
• Work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required

• HCPC-registered Physiotherapist.
• Demonstrable acute inpatient experience.
• Experience in discharge planning, particularly within medicine and elderly care.
• Ward-based respiratory skills.
• Competence in functional assessment and equipment prescription.
• Strong MDT communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced hospital environments.

Working Hours

• Full-time hours.
