Brief Job Overview

Enfield Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to support Adult Social Care services within the community. This role involves working with adults who have physical disabilities and learning disabilities, contributing to assessments and interventions that promote independence and wellbeing.

This is a community-based position suited to a confident OTA who is comfortable undertaking assessments and supporting qualified Occupational Therapists within a social care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of occupational therapy services to adults with physical and learning disabilities.
• Carry out community-based assessments under the guidance of qualified Occupational Therapists.
• Assist with implementing intervention plans to promote independence and daily living skills.
• Work directly with service users and carers in their own homes.
• Contribute to accurate and timely case recording in line with council policies.
• Liaise with colleagues and other professionals to support coordinated care.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant with a strong understanding of adult social care. You will be confident working in the community, engaging positively with service users, and contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant within social care.
• Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
• Ability to carry out community-based assessments.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.

Contract & Working Pattern

• Locum contract – ongoing
• 35 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
• Community-based role within Enfield
• Rate: £27.71 per hour (Umbrella)
