Director of Nursing – Surgical Operations

Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Nursing – Surgical Operations, you will:

• Oversee daily operations across all surgical departments, including OR, pre-op, PACU, and sterile processing

• Lead and support nursing and ancillary staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital executives to align clinical and operational goals

• Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and capital equipment procurement

• Monitor performance metrics, regulatory compliance, and accreditation readiness

• Implement evidence-based practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas (or compact state eligibility)

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN or MHA) preferred

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• CNOR certification preferred

• Minimum 5 years of perioperative nursing experience, including 2–3 years in leadership

• Strong knowledge of OR workflows, regulatory standards, and patient safety practices

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
