Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health

Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health, you will:

• Oversee daily nursing operations in inpatient and/or outpatient behavioral health units

• Ensure safe, evidence-based care for patients with psychiatric, substance use, and co-occurring disorders

• Manage staffing, budgeting, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives

• Support staff training, development, and adherence to clinical best practices

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN or MHA) preferred

• BLS certification required; CPI or PMAB certification a plus

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2–3 years in behavioral health leadership

• In-depth understanding of behavioral health systems, trauma-informed care, and crisis management

• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
