Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist:

• Perform computed tomography (CT) scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions

• Prepare and position patients safely and comfortably for imaging procedures

• Operate CT imaging equipment while ensuring high-quality diagnostic images

• Administer contrast materials when required, following established protocols

• Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any adverse reactions

• Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation in the radiology information system (RIS) and electronic medical record (EMR)

• Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff

• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure efficient workflow and patient care

Requirements of the CT Technologist:

• Active ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and CT certification (ARRT-CT) preferred

• Active Nebraska state license (or eligibility to obtain)

• Current BLS certification

• 1-2 years of experience working as a CT Technologist, or; Successful completion of a CT Externship through an approved CT school, or; Board certified as a Radiologic Technologist, (ARRT) required.
