Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technologist:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies

• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures

• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during operations

• Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping

• Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens

• Count sponges, needles, and instruments according to policy

• Clean and restock operating rooms between cases

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to ensure optimal patient care

Requirements:

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential

• Active Virginia license (or eligibility to obtain)

• Minimum of 1 year of recent OR experience preferred

• Current BLS certification

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic technique
