I entered the staffing industry in 2021, and prior to that I was a nurse for 8 years. I love getting to know travel nurses, finding out what motivates them, what their goals are, and hearing about their vision for their travel career. Being a part of actualizing that vision is deeply fulfilling for me. Even if my role in their journey doesn’t include a placement, helping travelers get closer to achieving their dreams fills my cup. Mackenzie Fischer

I grew up in a small town in Colorado out in the country. I went to nursing school in Phoenix and have been a nurse for 8 years! I now live in Alaska 6 months out of the year and travel to different assignments in the winter time. I love all things outdoors; camping, hiking, fishing, spending time with family, my dog, and sitting down with a great book. As a nurse, I have worked on med/surg, tele, PCU and ICU’s and traveled in all specialties over the span of 3 years (not consecutive). I have been recruiting since March 2021 in addition to nursing. Hi!!! I have been married for almost three years to my amazing husband Ben, and we have a four-year-old German Shepherd Husky mix. I started as an Allied Health Recruiter in October of 2021, while pursing my master’s in business administration. Before that I was a Human Resource Manager for a large chain grocery store. I stumbled upon Uniti Med, and after interviewing I knew this was where I belonged. I love being able to talk to candidates and learn why they are traveling, what goals and dreams they want to accomplish with traveling and helping them find assignments that help them attain those goals and dreams.
