Prior to that, Steve was a co-founder and Vice President of Marketing, Content and Partnerships for NurseTogether.com. One of the original and most successful online communities for nurses. A Boston native and Boston sports fan, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.
Rachel Altum
Online Community Manager
Rachel is our Online Community Manager. As The Gypsy Nurse’s first employee, she has helped grow and manage our travel nurse community since 2014. She has a background in Communications and Graphic Design from Indiana University. She recently spoke at the National Social Medica Week Conference in 2019 about our rapidly growing Travel Nurse Network group on Facebook. She enjoys traveling, yoga, graphic design and spending time with her 2 rescue dogs, Chewy and Gilly.
Kathia Camacho Aponte
Vice President of Sales
Kathia Camacho is our Vice President of Sales. Joining The Gypsy Nurse in 2016. Since Kathia came aboard, sales revenue has increased 50+% year over year. Previously, Kathia has held senior level positions in the real estate and beauty industry. Kathia resides currently in Boca Raton with her 3 children and 2 dogs. She enjoys the beach and travel in her free time.
Suzanne Harper
Client Success Manager
Suzanne has over 28 years of experience in outside sales and customer success roles. She spent the last 16 years selling distribution services to major publishing companies across the United States. She loves meeting new people and learning about what makes their companies tick and how she can help them grow. When not at work, Suzanne enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids participate in various activities.
Amber Pickler
Content Strategist
Amber is no stranger to the medical field; she was a CNA for ten years before she received her marketing degree from Indiana University. She is responsible for identifying content opportunities based on community needs, community discussion, industry trends, and SEO opportunities. Reaching out to contributors for content contributions and establishing solid relationships. She also creates and manages the content publishing schedule. While also reviewing and revising raw content. When she isn’t working for TGN, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Shannon Nelson
Marketing Strategist
Shannon is an Arkansas native with over 9+ years of digital marketing experience. She graduated with her master’s in Marketing in 2017 and received her graduate certification in Communications in 2018. As our team’s newest member, Shannon joined The Gypsy Nurse in 2021. In this role, she will create and curate shareable content, manage email marketing and social media campaigns, oversee paid searches, and more. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and laying in her hammock with her dog named Sunday Morning.
Regan Cary
Social Media Support Specialist
Regan Cary grew up in a small town in Florida but has now fully embraced the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from Oregon State University, where she studied Digital Communications with an emphasis on social media and Marketing. Here at The Gypsy Nurse, Regan helps to share our content on our social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to build an audience and ensure community engagement. When she is not working, she enjoys exploring Portland and playing with her puppy named Chili.
