Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children’s Services team on a locum basis. This role involves managing complex cases, providing high-level social work expertise, and supporting junior colleagues to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory interventions

Undertake detailed assessments, care planning, and risk management

Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced social workers

Prepare reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings

Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children

Ensure compliance with statutory frameworks, policies, and best practices
Requirements:

SWE registration

Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s statutory social work

Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection processes

Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
