School Nurse (RN)

Requirements

• Current RN license for Washington state
• Have or able to get Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate – temporary certificates are available as well
• Experience with G-tube and suctioning preferred
• School or pediatric experience a plus
• Current First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

Job Description:

• 1:1 RN: School-Based
• Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 30 hours per week
• Contract follows the academic district calendar

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care during school hours
• Manage G-tube feedings and medications
• Perform suctioning and monitor respiratory needs
• Assist with mobility and positioning
• Monitor student’s condition and respond to emergencies
• Document care provided and follow IHP/doctor’s orders
• Communicate with staff, family, and healthcare team as needed

Salary:

• $1,200.00 – $1,560.00 per week
