Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool is responsible for providing high-quality, flexible nursing care across multiple units within a healthcare facility. The RN is expected to adapt quickly to different clinical settings, support various patient populations, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure excellent patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to the appropriate medical personnel.
Adapt to various units, including medical-surgical, telemetry, critical care, emergency, and other departments as needed.
Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and post-operative care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care.
Support and mentor less experienced nurses and assist in onboarding new staff members.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).
Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in multiple specialties.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Strong time management and ability to prioritize patient care.

Hospital or healthcare facility setting with frequent unit rotations.
Requires standing, walking, and assisting patients with mobility.
May involve exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
Shift-based work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
