Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (Caerphilly County Borough Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met to deliver safe, effective, and child-centred practice.
As part of the Children’s Services team, you will manage a varied caseload, carry out assessments, and work with multi-agency partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
– Undertake child protection and safeguarding assessments in line with statutory guidance. – Develop, implement, and review care and support plans tailored to children’s needs. – Carry out risk assessments and contribute to child protection enquiries and legal processes. – Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for court proceedings, case reviews, and statutory meetings. – Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated interventions. – Ensure the child’s voice is central to all assessments and planning. – Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with legislation, policy, and council procedures. – Participate in reflective practice, supervision, and service development within Children’s Services.

Requirements
– Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Care Wales**. – Experience working within **Children’s Services**, including safeguarding and child protection. – Strong knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. – Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills. – Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a child-focused approach.
