QSW (Qualified Social Worker)

Wandsworth Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their Children’s Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional to contribute to improving outcomes for children and families within a well-connected London borough, where driving is not essential due to strong public transport links.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children and families in need, ensuring timely assessments and interventions

• Undertake statutory responsibilities including child protection investigations, core group meetings, and care proceedings

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to develop and implement effective care plans

• Ensure all casework is compliant with legislation, guidance, and best practice

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports for court and reviews

• Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to support reflective practice and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• SWE registration

• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in children’s statutory services

• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation

• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced urban environment without the need for a vehicle
